MEET EWULOMI FEYISHOLA

My name is Ewulomi Feyishola, nickname Fefe. I am a 300 level physiology student of Olabisi Onabanjo University. I am an oriflame consultant; I sell their beauty products, hair products, perfumes, and so on.

I chose to go into the business world few months ago. I have been doing little here and there but started fully in September 2017. It was an inspiration from a friend and it was into something I was interested in. 

Trust me, I did not know it came with these levels of challenges. Getting people to actually be interested in what I sell. A lot of Nigerians want freebies or they want to pay on delivery, so your money has to be involved. A lot of risks have to be taken.  The successes out weighs the challenges though and that is the only encouragement I need. Most times when I receive alerts, I just smile because I know that is what I am in for.  Getting to meet high placed people,  exchanging ideas with a lot of other striving entrepreneurs. Listening to success stories fuels me for more greatness. In my line of business, it gets to a stage where you can win an all expense paid trip. This year it is to Paris(not there yet anyway,  but it is enough push).

I dream of a great platform where my brand name (😁 I have that already;  FeTy_collections) is known nation wide and even internationally.

Basically, the dream is to push my collections to the world. I would love to have a home where I can be a mother to thousands of children. I want the younger girl generation to draw inspiration from me.

Next five years, wow! By the grace of God, FeTy_Collections would have spread its tentacles nationwide with a sure store in Lagos and a maybe branch outside Lagos but in Nigeria. Bigger things but that is all I am permitted to say for now.

I love writing, it gives me inner peace. I love to dance,  I’m a “picture-holic”, I am a model 😁 , action and horror movies made it to the list too 😉 and lastly I love being on my own, It give me time to really think.

My family keeps me going. Honestly, if not for them would have given up a long time ago. Also, I heard this quote and fell in love with it “If your dream does not scare you, it’s not big enough.”

Meet Blessing Ewulo

My name is Ewulo Blessing, my nickname is Unique Bee. 

I am a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University,  Ile Ife.  I studied food science and engineering, currently undergoing my youth service with Standards organisation of Nigeria (SON). 

I am an entrepreneur; a clothier. 

I would say being an entrepreneur has always been my thing. I got this from my mum who in her little way has done a lot of businesses  in combination with her job as a civil servant. She is retired now and still does business. I have helped market quite a number of products for my mum. So, I decided to start a business of selling Adire in my third year in school, I was undergoing my Industrial training at 7up bottling Company Abuja.

I bless God for how far he has taken the business. Convincing people to buy a particular brand of fabric they are not normally used to can be very challenging. However, once they have gotten positive comments about the product, they tend to patronize more. The important thing with sales of a product is your ability to convince your customers to patronize you. 

There is still a lot of grounds to cover in the area of my business. It is my dream by the grace of God to get majority (if not all) of the people I come in contact with to wear the made in Nigeria fabric known as “Adire”. I want to make this an acceptable way of dressing among every tribe and culture not just the Yoruba tribe. I also look forward to exporting this fabric.

Meet BuzeB

My name is Abu Eche Ben. BuzeB is my nickname.

I am a graduate of Mathematic/computer science (ed) and I am presently a corps member serving in Enugu state.

I am a fashion designer (BuzeB clothings). We are into designing and sewing of wears both male and female. We practically make everything!

 We also teach and graduate tailors and designers. I am just a young man trying to make good clothes, see people wear my clothes and make a living. 

BuzeB clothing started with the sewing and selling of just trousers. We did that for two years, then in my final year in university I took my savings to open a tailoring house and we have been trying hard  to make it bigger. 

The journey so far has being good. There are  a lot of challenges in tailoring especially meeting up with clients’ timing and also getting yourself known. 

Our success story; we were nominated for fashion designer of the year in Benue Youth Choice Award 2017.

 We also showcased in Benue’s Fashion week 2017 and many others opportunities. There are hardly ever opportunities for designers in Nigeria, you just have to work your way to the top.
My dreams is to be one of the best fashion designers on the face of our planet and my wears would sell like Gucci, Prada and so on.
5 years from now, I should be the best designer in Nigeria and I should be selling as much as a thousand wears in a week! 😉  

Aside tailoring, I like cooking. So I  think I  would have been a chef 😁

Meet Divine Johnson

My name is Divine Johnson but I prefer to be called Divny. My nicknames vary from time to time depending on where I am or what I am doing, so I do not stick to any of them. 

I am a 100 level linguistics student of the University of Benin. I am a fashion designer. I am also into baking, sugarcraft and event decoration, and I am a Gospel actor. 

I love fashion, I love to be unique. It got to a stage in my life when my fashion designer could not interprete the crazy styles I had in my head. I had to learn fashion designing in order to bring those styles into fashion myself.

On baking, sugarcraft and event decoration, my mum has a catering store. She was just baking and cooking alone because she cannot decorate, but her clients were always asking for an event decorator. I had to go out there and learn it. I have got three certificates in catering from three different catering institutions. 

So far, I have looked for competition in these fields. I also put my work out there as competition for others and it is called the YES2CREATIVITY concept. It is a portal to reach creativity. 

In five years, yes2crecreativity should be a label on its own. Everyone should know it for its production of creative stuff and superb competition. 

My passion to set free the imprisoned creativity in youths keeps me going.

Ode to a Phoenix

I woke up on the 20th day of March 2017 and looked around the room we shared for about four years. There was a lady with red hair on the bed. I know she is not wearing a red hair, so who is this? Oh! This is my baby sis. 

It all started coming back. She is married now. The inevitable tinge of loneliness crept in, lagos will never be the same for me without her. However great joy also filled my heart, finally!!! They are legal. I am so happy for them, rest assured that she is well taken care of and happy. 

I arrived the University of Lagos, Akoka and my first set of roommates would not stop talking about an amazing lady. One day, shouts of “she is back” filled the air. I had to see her, so I found a reason to go to the house. She answered the door and her eyes made me stagger. Pure light brown and strokes of green. Did I say a word?  Did I walk or run to my room? I cannot tell. I just wanted to hide from the eyes that seemed to look into my soul. And God!  She was beautiful. 

Over time, we bonded. And she became everything I prayed for and more. 

She is a God lover, one who will go the extra mile to seek God and do his will. A hardworker, one who puts her very soul into any task at hand she has to do. A chef indeed, I think I am still under the spell of her jollof rice 😁. She is a ‘Faither’ I had to coin that word for her. She is one of the most optimistic persons I know who would find solution to almost any problem and believe until it comes to pass. She is beautiful inside out; not just for her flawless skin, captivating eyes and shape that screams ‘hawt’ but also beauty that shines from inside that makes basically everything she touches turn to gold.

 She is a lover to a fault. When she loves you, she loves you and will do almost anything for you as long as it lies within her. 
But then, she is human and not perfect. She has a mind of her own and operates at a very high level of intelligence which is a good thing if you can flow with her and please do not be slow and dull 😁 

She has had her fair share of ups and downs. She has cried many times and had her heart broken mostly by the ‘Brutus” she trusted,  since she is a very open and trusting person. She has gone through pain and rejection. But like gold, she comes out refined 

She allows God help her heal and forgive,  not holding grudges and hurt but loving even more,  which gives her the peace she has today. 

Like the Phoenix, she rises. 

In the few years we were together, I have learned a lot; to love without holding back, to trust and hold God to his word without relenting, to give when there is genuine need, to be a lady and be strong, to have fun and still be Christian, to stand up for myself and what I believe even in the face of opposition,  to go for the best and not settle for less and to help as many as I can especially young ladies who are struggling with issues most people do not care about. 

Some people said I would not go far associating with you, see how far God has brought us and made me.

Meet Bruno Ogbe Agbonze

My name is Bruno Ogbe Agbonze. You can call me Bruno Ogbe which is also My Stage Name (Glim) But not yet popular. 

I am a 200 level student of Computer Science of the University of Benin. I am a Gospel Singer and a Recording Artist. 

 I also dance and do graphics, but I am more into my music. 

I actually did not take it seriously when I was younger. I remember I did not even join choir call when I was in secondary school.  I felt Gospel music was boring at that time. I loved Psquare so much, I still love them. But someone who is now my Role Model (Frank Edwards) came out with a new style of gospel that I love so much. This changed me and I discovered overtime the real mindset and Joy behind Gospel songs. I experienced a great change in my thoughts towards singing, which I know it was the Holy Spirit. 

I remember I was the shy type and had a low self esteem. I used to get scared and to shy to talk among my peers, I do not really know why I was scared then. 

But later, I found myself singing on several stages and different churches and I am always happy doing it even without being paid 😁 but I know that soon, people will be paying (Just Kidding) but it is definitely going to get to that stage. 

My First ever studio session was a song I was featured in. I was called to backup a song, one of the songs of the producer. It did not stop there, he insisted that I take part in one of the songs in his album he was working on (‘What can I give’ is the title), the song came out successful and then he decided to produce a song for me, that how my first song (Uwese) was given birth to. The journey as not been that easy. The biggest challenge of being a Gospel Artiste is lack of sponsorship and encouragement compared to the secular artistes that easily get endorsements and sponsors. 

 Also, as Gospel artists, we are expected to live as examples. I think people expect so much from us that they forget we are humans too and blood flow through our veins just like them. But it is nice being in the spotlight having Jesus at heart because He will guide you through temptations and trials of the flesh and from pride, because fame easily influences our thoughts. 

Being relevant is success already because not everyone is able to get to this level. Although I am not yet where I want to be, but there is a big difference compared to when I started. I have been able take my songs out for the world to hear, that is great success already. 

I have had opportunity to meet and be known by Frank Edwards, I received a piano from him. I have also performed along side great Artistes like Jude Sax, Chiyere from Project Fame, Phemmy the Alade ogo crooner. 

I love what am doing, although the money is not coming now but I love the fact that I am blessing and I am changing lives with my Gift and I am using it for the Glory of God and His son Jesus. 
My Dreams is to become a Super Star. A wealthy and Famous one actually 😁 , Spreading the gospel through my songs and making impact in the lives of every persons around the world. I am also planning on building up some young and gifted persons through a Platform, which I will soon Review,  it is Called Glim’s Court. I am starting from my church,  all the branches precisely will be part of it. 
In five years I will still be singing, my Passion for music is emphasised, I miss classes because of Programs sometimes though, which I know is bad! But I do not see myself doing anything else than singing. 
Outside music I do Graphics and try to learn new stuff on my computer.

 
The word of God keeps me going.. Because sometimes I get discouraged. My favorite scripture is (1 Thessalonians  5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it) this scripture keeps me going and builds my confidence when I am down

Meet Tells Awani

My name is Intellect Oritselaju Awani, you can call me Tells Awani. 

I studied Political science in Delta state University. I am a model and an actor. 
My journey into modeling started with peeps appreciating my height and fine face. I did not like to workout before, popsy used to tell me then that a time will come when I will love workout and the time eventually came,  I became an addict. 

Someone saw me one certain year and asked me for a shoot. I was reluctant at first until I fared down to the location. I was given a hotel room and paid 30k. It was a wow! I am like ‘just for my photos? I’m getting all of these?’ It really made me look into the modeling world and I saw that there is actually something good in it, so I took it more seriously. 

As per the acting part, a friend asked me to help him because the aunt was directing an interview session. I went there to help with the lightnings and microphone because of my height. It happened that one of the actors was absent and I ended up acting. I played the part well. Then later I was invited for an audition, I went and it was no stress. 

I got my first role, I read the script and made some corrections. I let the directors know I am a critic for naija movies. It happens that whenever I am given a script, I will just read a part of it, smile and tell them what happens next or close to it. Some say I have seen it before, others just envy. 

So far, It has been challenging. I once missed an international  job sometime in 2016 because of international passport issues. Also, most of the job owners are married women and they wanna get laid first. I am never doing that s***

Five years from now, you should meet me having a firm of my own, happily married and putting smiles on  faces. 

I think I have got plans already for the future. It is just to put them to work.

Meet Halima Bakenne

My name is Bakenne Halima but you can call me “Lima/Leamar” (just go with the flow).

 A graduate of finance from the prestigious University of Lagos. I dumped my certificate to follow my passion- talking and writing. I am a freelance OAP, writer and voiceover artist. I also am a makeup artist(although that is more of a hobby)

My journey to entrepreneurship has not fully started so I am going to skip talking about that!

However, being/getting into the media without a certificate of qualification has been really tough. The hardest part at the beginning for me was not getting my foot in the door (as my charming nature always helps with that 😉 ) but proving that I could actually do it.

So I started my website where I post weekly podcasts about life and relationship and that helped me build my confidence and speaking prowess (if you listen to my earlier podcasts and compare to the latest ones, the difference is very obvious. I sounded like a croach with my high voice looool).

 The dream is to be an impact on this generation and ones to come. Be an inspiration to someone out there by making them believe in the power of dreams!

Meet Victory and Shepherd

My name is Victory Abang and I am a law student of the University of Lagos, a guitarist, song writer and a singer. 

I don’t have a nickname but my guitar does 🙂 his name is shepherd.
I am very passionate about slow songs and this is what led me to become a guitarist. I have been a singer since as far back as I can remember. 
My music is very diverse, I could be talking about the nation today, pouring my heart out to God on another day or even singing about love the next day. Most times when I get bored or lonely or, more importantly when I am very emotional, I just get out my instrument and it helps me express myself and that is how I make my best music. 
In five years time your first question to me will probably be “Victory,  how do you manage working in a top law firm and running a gospel band so easily?” 🙂 

And my answer will Most likely be “A Good God , and some Good friends” 🙂

But who knows??

What keeps me going are the many people I see on social media doing better, developing themselves and getting paid for it, and the dream that I too will be in the spotlight someday.

Meet The Caterer

My name is Ibinabo Moses Agbai – Ib for short. 

I studied hospitality management and I am a caterer by profession.

My journey into entrepreneurship started in my primary school days when I used to lived with my aunty that is a caterer – she studied abroad by the way. Back then we would spend most nights baking and making chops and spend our weekends cooking for parties. It was fun but hectic for me as a little girl. I felt punished with the endless chores and cooking 😁 . But as I grew older and started secondary school, I started enjoying it and fell in love – even with the chores. That was basically how the fire for cooking came to be lit in my heart.

I later went along to attend trainings and take catering related courses and then went on to register my company as Spicehouse catering limited.

So far, the journey has not been easy but I must say its been worth the ride. I have moved from cooking and baking for free which I still do every now and then, to catering for private firms. I have also managed the canteens of banks like Gt bank and fidelity bank.

At some point, when I freshly started, I had to stop a while because I was funding my advents myself and embarking on such a journey without support is not so much of an easy gig.The competition out there is also quite stiff because it is  really not the kind of business where you can really carve out a niche. Everywhere you turn, there is a caterer waiting to offer services, so finding myself in the business began to give me a lot to think about and I almost gave up the struggle. But then, I found courage in my passion for cooking and catering to people –  and I told myself there was a place for me and I could do anything I set my mind to. So, tadaaa 😁. Here I am getting paid to do my thing and loving it. 

I would love to share one risk in particular but the details might be a little too personal to divulge. But I can tell you that it affected my health and almost ended my career but I thank God for coming to the rescue like he always does. Taking risks is a part of our everyday lives as entrepreneurs – it is  what we do basically, so we never let it hinder or stop us.

I have big dreams to own a catering institute where teenagers will be trained in the art of catering. I also intend using the platform for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I look forward to owning restaurants all over the world, starting here in Nigeria.

From my view, five years from now, I cannot  tell what God has in store. His ways are always mind blowing and I trust in him. But I am positive that five years from now spicehouse will be a household name in Nigeria, having restaurants in many parts of Nigeria.

For fun I like to cook, sing, go swimming or boat cruising.
